FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does volunteering work?

Volunteer teams to go projects sites where they work together with licensed contractors and other professionals that show the IGS volunteers everything they need to know to complete their projects. There are also non-projects volunteer positions available. See "Offsite Volunteers" below.

How much does it cost me?

You just need to get yourself to the project site, IGS will take care of the rest. (On some projects, there may be room and board expenses).

How long are the volunteer projects?

A typical project will take one or two weeks.

Do I need to know how to build things?

No. There will be professionals working with you, guiding you every step of the way. There is no pressure to have any construction knowledge of construction.

Offsite Volunteers

IGS has a large need for volunteers on a daily basis to help with non-construction jobs such as event planning, logistical planning, marketing, graphic design, fundraising and community outreach. If you would like to assist in any of these areas please select the "coordination" or "fundraising" buttons above.
