Volunteer - ConstructionIGS construction volunteers are responsible for completing the physical work of upgrading, retrotfitting and rebuilding homes, schools, hospitals and other community structures. You do not need to have any construction experience to be an IGS volunteer. Each IGS project has a construction professional to guide you through the work. All you need is a willingness to learn and have fun!
To become an IGS volunteer, follow these steps: STEP 1: Send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with your first and last name, your location and your area of interest (i.e., architect, designer, landscaping, general construction, etc.) STEP 2: You will receive an email detailing the IGS project locations in your area along with our volunteer form. Pick your location, fill out the form and email it back to us. STEP 3: Start fundraising for your trip (we will help you with this). IGS does not cover your travel expenses to and from the project location. You are responsible for flying/driving yourself there. STEP 4: One week before the project begins, you will be contacted by your IGS project coordinator (PC) to make sure you have everything you need. The PC will have a checklist of items for you to follow. STEP 5: Arrive at the project site ready and excited to work! |
